After a week of constant rain and having to change the route the sun came out for us and and good day was had by all.

10 mile Ride for  Two Charities and a War Memorial

22 June 2014

Starting at RB Equestrian using public bridleways and small roads/lanes through to Little Brickhill, to Browns Wood, to Aspley Wood back through Great Brickhill.

It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone enjoyed the ride.  Got a bit warm so the horses and riders really appreciated the water on offer on their return.  The youngest rider was six years old on a lovely black pony, she was amazing, loved the ride just exhausted, the pony was just as cool as he when he started, brilliant fitness, well done 'Poppy'.

Fund Raising for Remembrance Day

Saturday 8th November

A lovely fun day it turned out to be, a great social event as usual at RB Equestrian tack and feed store.

The 50/50 competion had a lot of interest, an enlarged picture of the horse vs tank had a grid drawn across and the squares were numbered. A square cost £1 the total squares sold were split 50% to the winner and 50% to the charties.  A lady from Buckingham was the cash prize winner.

The raffle was drawn by Roz, the first prize was a framed limited edition sketch drawn by Amy Goodman, whom is creating the life size bronze War Memorial of the War Horse and Trooper, to be mounted in Romsey Park, the site of the Army Remount Centre 1914 - 1918, where the horses and soldiers were trained for six weeks before shipment to the front.

The winner was Sarah, she keeps her horses at Bury Farm,  introduced me to her first now aged horse which she brought from the town of Romsey!

Gross donations raised to date £1,900.00

16, 11 and 5 mile Fun Rides

Sunday 31 August 2014

Another successful Fun Ride with perfect weather conditions and everyone had a good ride.

Lovely to meet riders and horses with different abilities, from the happy hacker to the more experienced.

Emma from the Chiltern and Thames Rider magazine on her lovely horse Marley rode the 16 mile route, when they came back looked just as cool as when they started.

The late addition of a 5 mile ride proved to be popular, allowing the younger riders to take part.

A representative from the Rare Breeds Society' walked leading one of her Exmoor ponies on the 5 mile route and said she really enjoyed it.

On their return there is drinking water for the horses and for the riders bottled water and a banana

I would like to thank everyone for the lovely feedback and look forward to next time.
